Support Network Neutrality
The issue of Net Neutrality does have some champions: Amazon.com, Earthlink, EBay, Google, Intel, Microsoft, Facebook, Skype and Yahoo. Internet innovator Vint Cerf, many lawmakers and legal experts have come out against the abolition of Network Neutrality. Indeed they have promoted provisions that would ensure the free access we all have come to rely upon.
Network Neutrality is Worth Fighting For
The big guys at the top of the ‘food chain’ are not keeping their intentions a secret. Telecom companies admit they intend to create a fee for service pay schedule. Premier service is reserved for the ‘chosen few’ companies who can afford top dollars to get top Internet ratings.
We have only just begun the battle on this infringement of freedom. Censorship will allow Internet providers to block competition and render the greatest communication tool we have useless to the greater population. Perhaps it is surprising that already the cable and telephone companies have 98 percent of the broadband access market. If Network Neutrality is diminished, the Internet will become the official message board of the network owners. The loss to consumers will be devastating.
